Rummy Multi Table Tourney

The game Rummy is played with many variations and so its tournaments are played with 2-3 types. Many game’s sites schedule tournaments for Rummy players to let them chances to win lot of prizes and to show their game skills to others. The Rummy Tournaments are basically of two types and these are Rummy Single-Table Tourney and Rummy Multi-Table Tourney.
 

How to Play Rummy?

It is believed by many theories that Rummy is derived in twentieth century and it is the 3rd most popular game in the world. Rummy games are easy to learn but needs good strategy and game skill to win the game.

Rummy games are played with a standard 52 cards deck. These cards are arranged from low to high as A, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K. Rummy games have many variations and some of the popular variations are Oklahoma Rummy, Kalooki, Gin Rummy and Rummy 500 etc.

When the game starts then each player are dealt some cards by the dealer and the main aim of the game is to dispose of cards by forming meld and laying off etc. This is done by discarding and drawing cards and building melds in your hand during the play in each turn.

A Meld is formed by two types either by sets of 3 or 4 cards of the similar rank or consecutive cards of the similar suit. So meld is formed by two types like:


If 3 or 4 cards are in consecutive order of the same suit then a meld is formed.
If 3 or 4 cards are of the same rank then a meld is formed.

Usually Rummy games are played with 2 to 6 players. Some cards according to game rule are dealt to each player and the left out cards are put face down to form the stock pile. Then the dealer turns up the top card and places it, face up, near to the stock pile to form the discard pile.


Then play’s turn gets started and each player draws a card either from the top of the stock pile or from the top of the discard pile. And game continues till a player forms meld. As soon as you form a meld you put it on the desk. When a player disposes all his cards then he is declared the winner and the game is finished.


All of the Rummy’s variations have their own particular scoring plans. That player is declared winner of a Single-Table Tournament who is the 1st player to set out of cards I his hand. A Multi-Table tournament’s winner is that player who collect the maximum sum of scores or in several tournaments the last player to continue in the play with no elimination.

About The Multi-Table Tournament
In this article, I am going to describe about Rummy Multi-Table Tourney. The tournaments are played in accordance with a prearranged schedule. A player can get all the details about the tournament at the registration time. The Rummy Multi-Table Tourney is played by many players at a time and these players compete with each other towards achieving the goal of the game like winning a huge pool prize.

In a Rummy Tournament if players are seated next to each other to a number of many tables and the tournaments take place among the players then this tournament is known as Multi-Table Tournament. Generally, the Rummy Multi-Table tournament is based on the elimination principle. A number of Rummy tables are included in the tournament and usually 4 players are seated on each table.

According to game’s rule for a tournament, it is predefined that the players who accumulate more or certain points of penalty will be eliminated from the tournament.

When players are being eliminated, through the tournament, the number of on the go tables is reduced, and players from other tables are gathered and so the number of table are also reduced and unoccupied tables are eliminated. The players of other tables join the players in other tables which have seats. The tournament continues in the same way and players of the more penalty and tables are eliminated. In a two player tournament, the last player acquires the whole pot. In a 3 to 4 player tournament, the prize money is distributed as 85 % to the first winner and 2nd winner gets the 15% prize money.
